Understanding the Certified Burn Manager Program for Pasture Burning
The Oregon Department of Forestry’s Certified Burn Manager program was created to support the use of controlled burns in land management. Benefits to burners include liability coverage for burns enrolled in the Prescribed Fire Liability Program.
Some additional requirements exist for program participants to ensure safe burns. Experienced pasture burners may qualify for historic recognition to enter the program, bypassing some of the requirements for becoming certified.
This workshop will feature ODF and DFPA representatives to explain the program’s benefits and requirements, and answer questions related to pasture burning.
